Armpit lump

I posted the other day but as the days go by I'm getting more and more concerned. I have a marble/grape sized lump on my armpit/side of the breast. It's not painful, it's quite solid and doesn't really move around. I first noticed it probably at least 3 weeks ago now. I have a appt on Monday to have it checked by a specialist. It I'm just so worried. Has anyone else had this? Is anyone able to provide me some insight to what it may be? Good or bad. I know the chances of it being cancer is so slim especially considering my age but both grandmas and a aunt lost the battle to breast cancer so I've always been very mindful of it so I'm really freaking myself out. Please Any stories/advise would be helpful right now x

  • Hey

this sounds exactly just like the lump i have I’m waiting for a appointment from the breast clinic I kept feeling mine everyday thinking it was just bone but then my other armpit didn’t feel like it so in the end called the doctors I’m worried everyday it it’s so scary and I feel for anyone going through the same thing x

  • Thank you for replying. It really is so worrying. I've had lumps pop up before but they were painful small lumps that cleared after a few days. This feels totally different so it's really freaking me out. I'm really luxky and have private health cover through my work. Within 24 hours of my gp appt on the phone (Tuesday) I sent my referral and had a appt for a specialist on Monday. The wait is still killing me though. I just don't get what it could be. What does yours feel

like of you don't mind me asking? And what has your doctor said? X

  • Hello

i would say it feels like a really hard grape what doesn’t move but it’s really far in like you have to push Right into my armpit near my breast my doctor just said it could be because I’ve had a baby in the last year and it does weird things to your boobs  because ive had clear and white nipple discharge aswell but I have a family history of breast cancer x

  • Hey

So good news is my lump isn't anything to worry about. I saw a specialist yesterday who straight away said he thinks it's just a cyst. Then today I had a ultrasound (prefered when under 40) and was advised I would have a biopsy following that if anything looked sinister. The radiologist confirmed it was nothing to worry about but just have to wait for the specialists report to confirm exactly what it is. I really hope this gives you and/or others some peace of mind x

  • Hey lovely

that is amazing so glad you had good news im hoping mine will be similar fingers crossed! I just can’t help but think the worst I’m still waiting for my appointment

  • Yeh I know exactly what you mean. It's so hard not

    to think the worst.

teally hope you get the same good news! Xx

  • Hey,

just wanted to come on here and see if you have any more news.

Was it just an armpit cyst or something else?

and if it is a cyst is it still there?

does it grow or change size?

  • Hey.
So I got it checked out by a specialist who said he didn't think it was anything to worry about but would send me for a scan anyway to be sure. I had a ultrasound due to my age and it came back as nothing to worry about thankfully. They didn't really say what it is. The lump is still there and doesn't seemed to have changed size or shape.

hope this helps put your mind at rest if you are going through something simular. Deffinately get it checked if you are though as better to be safe than sorry x

  • Hi

I had an ultrasound too which said it was an armpit cyst but since I've been on my period the cyst has grown. It has me dead worried as I can't find any information if armpit cysts can grow due to hormonal changes.

  • It could be hormonal. I always get lumpy breasts around my period but I would still go to the docs to get reasurance and have a once over. If you're anything like me you won't be able to relax until you do. X
