Hi Orlagh,
I had one removed last year, which wasn't cancerous. They're usually benign, but have to be tested to eliminate cancer.
They're very common, especially after the menopause.
Thanks, has put my mind at ease, I'm premenopausal but glad to hear they mostly benign, have had strange ache since hysteroscopy so was worrying something was wrong. Thanks for replying.
Hi Orlagh,
That's ok, I'm glad you're feeling a little better about it now.
I've been in menopause 3 years and had a period out of the blue, which has been ruled out as unexplained, after an ultrasound, and checks showed no polyps or anything sinister. I'm very relieved, to say the least! I had it all done in a 'one stop appointment' at the hospital, which was good, no waiting for letters or phone calls!
I wish you all the best with your results! ️
Did you have any other symptoms other than the 1 off bleed ? As I've had several bleeds over the last few years( during lock down)that had become more frequent over this last year with pink discharge between and pain in my hip, back and legs ...resulting in my seeing a gp a few weeks ago ..had transvaginal scan were a thickening was found and I'm booked in for a procedure under general aesthetic on the 6th of Jan....that's 14 days after th scan ...so I'm really concerned...
