Partner been told cancerous tumou following Appendix removal

Good Afternoon, this is all so surreal and to be honest doesn't feel real. My partner recently had surgery following a ruptured appendix to then be told yesterday they found a cancerous tumour in the appendix. Apparently it is very rare and fast growing? We haven't been told much more and he has a CT and Colonoscopy booked for this Sunday and next Saturday. I don't really know what I am looking for but maybe just to chat to others who are experiencing this or have family members going through the same. We have two young children too and we just don't really know where to start my eldest (11) was asking questions today is Dad ok why has he got to go back to the hospital to which I answered for routine checks. Obviously the children won't know anything until we know ourselves and can digest what to expect. I just don't really know what to do and want to support my partner as much as I can and protect the children from this all.

  • I noticed you haven't had a reply yet Steel.A so I just wanted to offer you a warm welcome to the forum and let you know your post has been seen.

I'm sorry about what was found during your partner's surgery but fingers crossed the results of the CT and colonoscopy will bring more favourable news when the time comes.

Our members know how difficult this time can be so hopefully those who have been in a similar situation will share their advice and experiences with you soon.

    Kind regards,
