Breast clinic during Covid UK

Hi everyone, I have been referred to the breast clinic due to a lump on my right breast and a change under my right nipple. I already have mental health issues and I was wondering what the clinics are like during Covid. Also do I get some form of an answer on the day or is it just a really long process of waiting? Sorry to bother everyone, I'm sure this must seem ridiculous to those who are living with cancer. I don't want to waste anybody's time or anything like that but I would really appreciate some advice. Please take care everyone.

  • Hi. You sound similar to me. Ive got mental health issues too so they've been really bad lately because of worry and stress. I didn't recieve a form but had a letter from the clinic to take. And remember to wear a face mask when you go too. But the clinic staff was really friendly and i asked my dr to send them an email asking if i could take my mum with me and they agreed. I found it really quiet there on the day and i was seen quickly. I hope my reply is helpful and good luck with your appointment

  • Thank you Amy! I appreciate you taking the time. My mind is whirring constantly so I feel for you going through this too (Hugs) I might ask my dr to do the same thing but I'll have to weigh it out first as we don't live together and if I was the reason she caught Covid I don't think I could handle that but knowing I have the option is great thank you . I expected a phone call so knowing that you had a letter helps too as now I know what I am looking for. I really appreciate your reply Amy, thank you. Best wishes to you! Emma

  • Thats ok! If you mention the situation to them about not living together, they might still be ok about it. I felt bad about my mum coming with me too but at the last minute she insisted. The covid-19 makes all this so much harder. Hopefuly you won't have to wait too long for your appointment but i hate the waiting! But try not to think about it too much. You'll be ok on the day
