Worried and waiting

Hi everyone

I'm not sure what I'm looking for here maybe just someone who can relate

I have been feeling run down and headachey and tired and I noticed a lump on my neck on the right tendon it kind of feels like ..muscle? I went to my gp and she thought maybe it could be thyroid related so I had full blood count and thyroids and infection blood tests but they all came back clear so she has scheduled me to be seen at the head and neck clinic for an ultrasound .. I feel like the lump has gotten a little smaller so I was starting to be less concerned ..however I was in the bath and noticed that a mole on my thigh overnight is half turning black and now my thoughts are racing.. I'm very pale and moley and I am always a little concerned about them and that particular one is sometimes itchy I've sent an e-consultation to my gp and now I'm just waiting for word back

I have read some other posts on this website and I don't know how some of you are so strong it's inspiring .. I'm currently a nervous wreck

  • Hi Lz11,

I glad that you have contacted your GP about your mole, have you noticed a change in it or is it something new to you?

It's very unlikely that a mole on your leg would affect your lymph nodes in your neck as there not related. The nearest lymph nodes would be affected ie your groin.

It sounds like two separate things to me (I'm not a medical expert but have listened to a few).

It's never easy waiting for result, operations or tests but what else can you do. I had to wait 9 months for my wide local excision (usually 4 weeks) but because of Covid everything was on hold. I have never been so happy to be carved up by a surgeon in my life. I went through every emotion known to man and them some again. You just have to find something that makes you happy and keeps your mind busy.

Do you know how long until you hear back from your GP?

    Take care

    Jason

  •  Hi

    Thank you for replying!

I feel a lot better after speaking to my gp on the phone today - the mole seemed to change overnight so she said perhaps it's trauma I could've scratched it in my sleep or clothes rubbed on it but I'm going in on Tuesday for a full body mole check because I have a few I'm concerned about and she suggested a full check I have an app on the 14th for my neck at the hospital with the neck specialist and my gp is trying to get me an ultrasound before I see the hospital specialist too

I am trying to keep my mind occupied like you said but I just have a lot of stress like everyone else at the moment and I've just started a new job

    Positive vibes
