Sore throat for 5 weeks

I have just read this thread. I have something similar. I feel like I have something at the back of my tongue so I swallow and swallow which makes my throat very dry and sore. Sometimes it feels like hair in my throat. I can eat & drink fine.  My left ear blocks and unblocks when I blow my nose. I have had lanzoprazole and antibiotics (both prescribed over telephone) and after 11 weeks had a phone ENT appt. Am finally being referred for examination. I am so anxious over it all

    I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with this problem for a while now. It's good that you have an appointment in the pipeline with the specialists. Hopefully they will be able to offer you some reassurance at your appointment.

    I have had letter from NHS saying I will have appt once pandemic is over. I will have to try & be seen privately as mental health won't take the wait after already having symptoms for 3 months.  The letter also says I told them I had lump in throat (not true) My symptoms are on the back of my tongue which I told them & they also say I have no ear problems when I told them ear was blocked. No faith in NHS at the moment.
