Grandma's breast cancer

Hi I would really appreciate some advice please. My Mama has been hiding a problem for a number of months now. Her breast has ulcers, its red and sore and lumpy and her nipple is inverted. She went to the doctors a few days ago who's referred her for a mammogram. She's been in bed about a week now her back is agony and she can't use her arm on the same side as the breast she's poorly with. She's hardly eating and she's very weak. She is very stubborn but I really want her to go to hospital. I've been told by someone who does mammograms that they wouldn't do one with her being this poorly there's literally no breast left what would be the best course of action? The mammogram is a week tomorrow. Thanks xx

  • Welcome to the forum Rach although I'm sorry about your Mama. It sounds very tough for you both.

If you're concerned maybe you could get in touch with the hospital to explain the situation and find out what tests they would be able to carry out.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will offer their support and advice to you soon but if you'd like to have a chat with one of our cancer nurses about this then do give them a call. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Wishing you all the best for next week.

    Kind regards,
