Pelvic mass

Hi,

 

Last week I went for an MRI in my back and totally unrelated they found a pelvic mass. This had turned my world upside down as I've had no symptoms.
 

I has an appointment yesterday where the consultant confirmed I had a 7-8cm mass on my right side. Terrified is an understatement. His initial thoughts were a fibroid as it seems to be attached to my uterus.

 

He has however taken bloods for CA125 and I have an ultrasound on Monday.

 

He told me not to jump to conclusions but I can't help it. I'm terrified. I think I might be in shock.

    Please try not to worry. When I was pregnant they discovered a large mass on my ovary in a mri scan. It was a dermoid cyst and they removed it and my ovary during c section. Can I ask why you were getting mri done on ur back. Did you have pains in your back?

    It was completely unrelated - I had a car crash last year and suffered whiplash and my back was injured. It was to check on my back - I have a bulging disc!

     

    The consultant was very good and ran through all the scenarios starting with a fibrils then a cyst like you had.

     

    You just automatically think the worst don't you. I think I'm in some sort of shock as I feel fine and have had no symptoms.
