Hi all, as a summary:
Age: 29
Sex: Male
Height: 6'1
Weight: 80kg~
Race: British Caucasian
Duration: 36 days
Location: Chest, back, neck, abdominal region
Current medications (if any): None - Previously omeprazole and Phenoxymethylpenicillin
Medical history - Nothing noteworthy though I no longer have tonsils and I have the inability to burp (instead my throat makes growling noises on occasion, fairly embarrassing). Nan had Pancreatic cancer.
About 5 weeks ago, I started to have a feeling of slight nausea and tightness/pressure in the centre of my chest (around my sternum)and if I leaned back, the the tightness flared up a bit then about a week later, I got a reoccuring throb in my ear (4/5 on the pain scale) which comes and goes, and a feeling of discomfort (2/3 on the pain scale) in my throat.
As of now, the pressure is still there in my chest (3/4 on pain scale) and the ear throbbing/pain still comes and goes. In addition to this, I have now lost my appetite and if I do eat something then I feel extremely nauseous, more so than I feel usually. I have a pain in the upper left quadrant of my abs (ranges from 3-7 on pain scale) and a pain below my sternum which feels like it's burning in nature, which is radiating to my back. My bowels have been alternating between diarrhoea to mild constipation and I've lost a bit of weight.
I saw the doctors who initially thoughts it's something to do with acid reflux and after feeling my neck and the top of my chest, sent me off for a blood test and a stool sample (to rule out h.pylori) after giving me a course of omeprazole (which did nothing following the full course). Was then later sent for a MRI scan by an ENT doctor of the head and neck which was clear, along with another set of blood tests
They currently don't know what the issue is so are handing me over to a gastroenterologist who I'm due to see in two weeks. Should I be concerned at this stage? I've been doing mental gymnastics for the past few weeks and have convinced myself I have pancreatic cancer. I've never really felt like this and I miss enjoying my meals, the nausea is unbearable at times.
Thanks for your time.
