Urology Appointment after ultrasound

Hi

I wrote on here a couple of weeks ago after my husband had gone to the doctors after finding a lump on his testical. The doctor said it's a good chance it could be cancerous so he got an appointment for a ultrasound which he had on thursday 18th. The sonographer didnt give any indication as to the result and my husband was told to phone his doctor early this coming week the result should be there within 7 days.

However this morning (Saturday 20th) he recieved a letter for an appointment with urology. Can anyone tell us what this could mean? I'm thinking it's not good news but didnt think he would receive anything until he got the results from his doctor.

Any advice greatly appreciated :)

Thanks

  • Hi Lou.m

My husband had a CT scan on a Friday and was given the results the following Tuesday by the GP, the results would go to your doctor very quickly and they have obviously been proactive and want you to see urology try not to think the worse as it may be just a precautionary consultation to check him out, easier said than done I know. When does he go to Urology?

    Take care

  • Hi thanks for replying.

His appointment is on the 1st of july. I think as he got that letter before speaking to his doctor he is obviously very worried and thinking the worst. Hes going to phone his doctor monday morning and hopefully they will give him some information.

    Thanks x

  • Our minds do go in overdrive and hope you get some positive news when you speak to the doctor.

    Take care x

  • Hi Lou.m,

I hope your husband had some good news, I'm hopeful that the outcome was positive as the urology referral wasn't deemed as urgent given the timesale of the appointment. My husband is going through something similar atm, he found a lump in his testicle, had a ultrasound booked within a week and following that and urgent urology referral was made and again the appointment was within a week. He hasn't had that appointment yet so I understand the worry you went through.

  • Hi ladies,

I hope the outcomes have been positive for you all.

I came here looking for comfort i think, as my other half has had the same situation and his urology appointment is this Tuesday.

Does anyone know if you find out more information in the visit to urology or will there be more tests etc before any clarity?

    Any experience appreciated

    Thank you

  • Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone would be happy to share what happened in the end and how their appointments turned out, because my husband is going through the same thing and we are a bit worried. His appointment is next week.

    thank you fo sharing

  • Hey Bee

So sorry you're going through this. So from the first time he went to the doctors to having his op it took about 6 weeks so very quick I have to say. After his op he was advised he didn't need further treatment as he caught it very early. He gets regular check ups to make sure everything is ok. Hang in there and talk to each other it's tough for the partner as well having to watch them go through it. Give me a shout if you need to ask anything else. Wishing your other half all the best xx
