I was in a similar position to you about a month or 2 ago with a lump in my right breast. Mine did unfortunately turn out to be breast cancer but try your best not to scare yourself silly (I know it's way easier said than done). The majority of lumps arent cancer - they can usually be fibroaedenomas or cysts. Do you still have the lump? - has it changed in size and what is it like? I.e. movable, solid etc?

Although its good not to assume the worst please be persistent if you still feel something isn't right and ask for a face to face appointment if possible. It's good that you have a phone appointment coming up - hopefully it can give some clarity

Hi, thank you for your response. I'm so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I do feel silly, I know that I might be fine and it could be something completely different. I'm just driving myself insane. 
 

so I still have the original lump, it's quite firm doesn't seem to move and there appears to be another smaller one to the left of it. Honestly I won't feel happy until it's atleast been scanned. The way I see it is that I've got a lump, potentially 2. I've got a fluid leaking from the nipple, I've got weird looking spot/pores and the doctor said my nipple felt odd (whatever that means) so if they don't offer me an appointment for a scan I will ask for a second opinion. My daughter doesn't have a dad I'm basically all she's got so I need to be sure for her sake. I'd never forgive myself if I didn't persist and it was missed. Whatever it is, it isn't normal so until they can explain to me what's going on I'm not going to give up. 
 

thank you again for your response, it's nice to just talk to someone about it tbh, it's driving me insane which is ridiculous because it may be nothing and I'll feel like a right pray for getting myself like this especially on a site where people are being told their worst nightmare on a daily business. It's just only me and my 2 year old at home and it's difficult to rationalise.

Thanks. Yes the waiting part is horrible! I think they routinely offer scans to anyone with breast lumps anyway as far as I'm aware so hopefully this is done and it's good you plan to not take no for an answer. 

The majority of people who post on here obviously have cancer or are very worried about it. I guess you wont really see many stories about those whose lumps turned out to be normal so again try not to overthink it too much.

I really hope it does turn out to be nothing! If there happens to be any bad news or you just want someone to talk to in the meantime you are welcome to send me a request and message me on here. Although I'm at a different stage I'm still in very early days and I know how you feel about the waiting part and feeling anxious. I'm also 23!

Must be extra worrisome when you have a little one!
