Well I know it's scary .. we've all been there ... but you said your M R I was fine ... so thats good news .. they will do more tests to find out exactly what it is ... theres no need to panic .. i know it sounds like you may have health anxiety ... and having two young ones it's more worrying ...

Really you need to talk to your Dr about your anxiety... ask him to explain what the tests are for ... tell him how you feel ... you could do something you'll regret ....and it just maybe easy solved ... ask your Dr if you can have some councilling... remember those two children need you ...  we get lots of health issues in life .. you will benifit if they can teach you coping mechanism....

If your symptoms and mole on the eye are conserning, they will arrange an appoinment for you within 2 weeks so don`t worry about the time. 

Your kids need you to be strong! I understand the fear, I`m going through the same now, just waiting for further diagnosis. You need to stay positive!

It's definitely true, if the Dr thought it was something very suspicious he would have referred you straight away. You need to take a step and breath. There are so many possibilities when it comes to our health but worrying all the time won't help you or your children. 

I understand health anxiety as I suffer with it and I have done since I was 15 when my brother died, I'm 31 now and believe me it can be managed.

Children pick up on things, my 4 kids have picked up on my anxiety this week as I am waiting for my breast clinic appointment,always a friendly ear if you need it.

I didn't want to read your post and not reply. 

It sounds like you're spinning a lot of different plates and doing all of this on your own. It sounds like this could be something that has tipped you over breaking point, so please go and talk to your GP about your anxiety and exactly how you are feeling. 

I have depression and many times when I'm very low I felt like running away and ending it all. So please, if you haven't already, speak to your GP or see if you can access your mental health services online.

Coping with young kids on your own is hard, and doubly so when we aren't on top form.

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some health concerns over the past year. It's great to hear that the MRI recently was fine but given that you've now been referred to the hospital again it's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things. Add to that caring for your children alone and having little support with all of this and it's not surprising that you're feeling overwhelmed. I think most people would be. 

I can see that you've already had some really sound advice from some of our members here and I would really encourage you to speak to your GP next week about how you're feeling. They should certainly be able to help. If you feel that the thoughts are getting too strong to manage then don't be afraid to ring 111 over the weekend or to call The Samaritans. There is always someone at the end of the phone that you can speak to 24/7. 

You're most welcome to post here on the forum. As you can see from the other replies, we've a lovely supportive and friendly community here and I'm sure that they would continue to offer you some support whilst you're waiting for your eye appointment.

I'm really sorry about how much anxiety this is causing you. Can I ask, was it your optician that noticed the mole? Have they referred you to the hospital direct or via your GP? Some opticians do it via the patient's GP and this is what causes the delay but it really won't take months. If this is what has happened to you I suggest you contact your GP on Monday. They won't yet have the referral through from your optician but let your GP know what's happened & how it's affecting you. Ask for an appointment so you can talk about your fears. Also, chase up with the optician that they have sent off the paperwork to your GP so that it goes through as quickly as possible. 

If the optician has referred you directly to hospital then it really shouldn't take months (that would be the case in less urgent eye problems). I suggest that you speak again to your optician next week and ask how you have been referred (urgent or non urgent - it really should be an urgent referral) & where to. If you don't hear anything from the hospital after 2 weeks you can then contact them to ask how long you will be waiting.

The thing to hang on to, as others have said, is that the MRI came back clear. So if the mole was causing any problems it would have been picked up already. Also, moles can appear anywhere (on the skin or behind the eye) at any time up to your 40s. Most moles that appear behind the eye are found to be benign so there is a very good chance that yours will be the same - just a nasty co-incidence after the symptoms you've been having.

So speak to your optician &/or your GP and I hope you have a clearer picture of how you have been referred & how long it will take by next week. Please tell your GP how it's affecting you - I'm sure they will be able to help. I know you only have a small support network but please talk to your closest friend or relative - sometimes just sharing your fears can help a little.

Thanks for replying the optician noticed my mole on the eye during testing. 

Around 8weeks ago a mole appeared on my foot this suddenly disappeared I’m due to see a dermatologist in August about that. 

To be honest my GP is fed up with me since March I’ve been suffering with various issues from chest pain, leg pain 3 different doctors have gave me 3 different blood test results 1st I was low B12 then my B12 was fine and I was low VitD then that was fine and my white blood cells are “slightly low”. 

My head feels on the verge of exploding and I really don’t know who or where to turn to.

Did the optician say if the referral was going direct to the hospital or via your GP? If through your GP you really need to chase it up so it doesn't languish in their In Tray (like my high blood pressure in my eyes did). 

To be honest your GP shouldn't be fed up with you! There is obviously an underlying issue for your ill health & they should try & bottom it. Deficiency of Vitamin D in the UK is very common and a severe deficiency causes lots of symptoms. I'm wondering if the test that showed your VitD was OK was correct as it takes a long time for the levels to change. As a melanoma patient we have to take Vit D supplements for life & we have blood tests annually to see if we are taking the correct dose. It takes 3 months to notice a substantial difference in levels so I would query that last result. 

Hopefully the mole behind the eye will turn out to be OK but please chase up the referral. I hope they get your other results sorted out - meanwhile it won't hurt to take a low dose Vit D supplement daily - you may find it helps a little.
