CT scan query

Hi everyone,

I've been referred to an acute oncology team at my local hospital after a backwards and forwards with my GP.

Initially saw my GP for swollen neck lymph nodes - was told I had an ear infection and given antibiotics. Tried to explain to GP recurring night sweats, dizziness and fatigue.

Swelling didn't go down so managed to see a different GP. My weight has dropped recently too. She referred me on.

My blood tests have all come back clear, as has the ultrasound on my neck (lymph nodes swollen but not misshapen ect).

I'm now being sent for a CT scan.

Questions: Would it be anything sinister if the blood tests are all clear?

Could this be coronavirus? I haven't had chest issues but all the other symptoms (fatigue, weight loss, dizziness, bad tummy, swollen lymph nodes) all appeared after a trip to factories in Northern Italy at the end of February / start of March. Has anyone seen any information on that?

  • I'm assuming you haven't had a covid test?

I have to get a covid test 2 days before I go in for my chemo treatment.

If all clear not necessary if all clear they will send you for a biopsy though. My CT & MRI was all clear & all my tests blood etc were good, wasn't till my biopsy they diagnosed me

  • Thanks for the response. I didn't get tested back in early March but my GP at the time said it was likely I had it (they weren't testing anyone outside of a hospital setting and I wasn't ill enough to go to hospital). I've since been tested but it was negative. The current GP said they will consider an antibody test but not 100% convinced it will be accurate. All v confusing on that front.
