Lump in neck

Evening,

I've developed a lump on the left side of my neck under my jaw line, around my ear and in front up to the top of my ear. This started about 3 months ago, alongside a hoarseness to my voice, fatigue and generally feeling rubbish. GP initially treated with antibiotics for suspected infection, which made no difference. I then had general blood tests done, which came back indicating higher than normal inflammation markers plus anaemia (despite anaemia treatment for over a year now).

Last Monday GP referred me to 2WW ENT one stop clinic, and I have the appointment first thing in the morning tomorrow. Anyone able to give me some idea what to expect at this appointment? Naturally I'm rather nervous

  • Snap! I went last Monday and my appointment is tomorrow. What's scared me is that my GP said he fears that I have a tumour in my lymph node and he wants a full body scan as he said it's possible it's a secondary cancer. My lump is in my neck but much lower down at the bottom and is between 5-10 cm. (10cm includes swelling) it's not sore at all but it is pressing on my wind pipe so breathing is difficult and swallowing is too. im trying to be positive but I also have had other issues which meant my womb and cervix have been removed and I have an hereditary condition which does eventually end up with cancer of the pancreas so I'm not straight forward.
I'm hoping it's going to be something silly like a cyst.
    good luck for tomorrow
