Smear test

Hey, i'm 25 years old and I'm wondering if someone could give me a little advice or if they can tell me any similar situations. I had a my smear test done around october 2019, i was never contacted so at first i thought everything must be fine, however in December i thought i would phone and check anyways. According to the nurse my results had shown abnormal cell changes and they had new systems which was why this hadnt been chased up with me. She told me to rebook another smear test for march 2020 (6mnths apart). My smear was already overdue to the fact i had the implant in and constantly bled everyday so could not get a smear until it was taken out (which took just over a year as no one would do it at my doctors practice and the sexual health clinic had a long waiting list)

i have had a previous misscariage before getting my implant where it showed a big cyst on my ovary and had a further scan to make sure it reduced, which it had.

i have since had really bad pains on what feels like my ovarys and went to the doctor about this in january, she done a physical examanination on my lower abdom and i felt excrutiating pain when she pressed into my right side (ovary area) she organised a scan for me to attend althought which the corona virus this was cancelled. Due to corona virus my smear test was also cancelled, i phoned up recently when my gp practice opened back up and a nurse resured me not to worry that its very rare anything would become of this and i would be contacted when the gp practice was back to normal and the lockdown restrictions where over as they arent doing smear tests just now.

I still have really bad pain on my ovary area sometimes i can't move as it come on sharp and suddenly but lasts about 2-5 mins max. It happens frequently on both sides. Is this quite normal ? Or should i be worried ?

thanks xx

  • Welcome to the forum Charlie although I'm sorry for the reason you're posting.

If you're worried do try and book in with your doctor again as they are the only ones who can say for sure whether this is any cause for concern. I know it's tricky at the moment due to the pandemic but hopefully this information will help you get the most out of your next appointment.

Fingers crossed everything will be o.k.

    Kind regards,
