I am a 76 year old woman who has been suffering with abdomen pains in left side . I have had two courses of antibiotics for infected diverticulitis but during this

ii treatment was taken to surgical assesmentt unit becasuse of pain. I had x rays and found bowel not to be obstructed. l also had blood tests which were normal..

[ had a CT scan last year for kidney stones which have been ruled out and C.T was normal.Also had routine bowel sample test about two years ago which was normal, No bleeding from rectum whch G P examined and said was ok.  i am currently waiting for result of bowel test from sample sent off.  I have in the past had recurring ibs and also treated for infected diverticulis

Does anyone know how long sample of stool takes  and any information on a similar situation, Obviously worried as to outcome,
