possible lymphoma?

Hi i wasnt sure where else to turn.

im windering if anyone has been through the same thing as me and what was the outcome

So I have had a persistent fever of 38+ on and off since about march/april time. I am sweating more than usual some days but not drenching. I have started to become short of breath. I spoke to my gp, after having a covid 19 test come back negative, who urgently referred me to haemotology as she was concerned i was ticking too many boxes for lymphoma.

She did some blood tests that showed LDH levels were slightly raised and my protein level were raised but everything else was normal.

I had an appointment with haemotologist yesterday who has said she cant feel any lumps, took some more bloods to check for HIV etc which came back fine (i assume as receptionist said they were satisfactory) and also being booked in for a ct scan and follow up appointment in 4 weeks.

Has anyone had similar symptoms tests etc? what was the outcome??

thanks in advance

  • Hiya,

I had blood tests that showed a raised ESR, CRP which are inflmmation markers last year and got referred to haematology for more bloods and a CT scan and they all came back fine then. Haematology weren't worried which was great but why was i getting symptoms is still a mystery  1 year later.

Now at the moment i have a lump/swelling on my jaw/side of neck with temps of between 37.7 to 38.4 since janurary. Feel loke rubbish but my doctors aren't concernes because i had all the tests last year. I might be going private to he honest to make sure at thid point.

I hope you get answers soon! Sorry this was meant to be a positive reply. Most of the time people are fine xx

  • Thank you for your reply!

I am currently assuming I will be fine and I'm aure more often than not people tend not to be diagnosed with lymphoma!

My gp made me panic making an urgent referral, mentioned lymphoma and nothing else. The haematologist seemed less concerned so fingers crossed!

I'm hoping you get answers soon! Xx

  • Hi Kimmy how are you now? Did you get your CT scan?

  • Sammy I have had fevers and chills on and off for over a year now with no answer. Im so worried. Only tests ive had is bloods and a chest xray. Im going to demand a ct scan  are you any better?

  • Hiya,

I really wish i had answers

I've still been getting temps since janurary, i was at the doctors when i was checked and it came up as 38.6! I had some lymph nodes come up in my neck had an ultrasound for my neck start of this month which just showed reactive lymph nodes.......im like yeah no kidding there is something going on but the doctors can't figure it out. Blood inflmation markers are still going up but no one seems to care. I demanded an abdominal ultrasound a couple of weeks ago which i got this past thursday beause im having a lot of abdominal issues at the moment and the hospital were refusing to do anything as id had scans a year ago so e everything must be fine ! I hope you find answers soon x

  • Do you know when you will get the ultrasound results? I really hope you get an answer. Is your temp always up or does it go up and down. Do you ever get chills with it? I wake from my sleep with my whole body shivering and shaking. Its awful  I am definitely going to demand a CT scan. Im worried sick as its been going on 15 months now. Its so hard to stay off google too

  • Mine is pretty much none stop mine im exhausted. Should get the ultrasound results next week and i shouldnt have looked at the screen tho arghhh thought i saw something on it but equally i can't read them things haha sometimes i would get episodes of feeling really hot/cold and my heart will race i hoping either rhumatology or infectious diseases to see of its anything ive picked up from travelling x

  • Did you get the results from your ultrasound yet? Hope alls ok. Im still fighting for the CT. The doctor is emailing my concerns to the haematologist to see what he says. He said he doesnt want to give me the radiation of a scan unless necessary  you'd think 15months of these symptoms would be enough to get one
