Anyone else receiving “normal appointments” again now?

I'm having my throat looked at due to lymph nodes everywhere for months and a sore throat by maxiofacial / ENT I had an MRI (without contrast although was supposed to be with but declined due to being worried nursing my son) aaaanyways, originally I was told it would be a follow up over the phone then it changed to a face to face appointment a few days after my MRI ... queue me panicking...

the appointment was two weeks later so I thought okay maybe not so panic as if it was urgent I guess it would be next day maybe ? Calmed down... then my letter came today it has no mention of wearing a mask or having temp taken like last time and it does mention in the usual normal letter (not specific) we encourage you to bring a friend especially if you have memory problems to talk about diagnosis and treatment... okay surely coronavirus hasn't gone away that wouldn't be encouraged unless something was off ??

Is anyone else having letters like this or is it still very much based around coronavirus for everyone else ? I'm 24 and panicking because I have an 18 month old

thanks for reading

  • Not had any letters at all, NHS text messages re COVID, just before hospital visits for scans etc

I am on the app for the hospital though so just phone calls re appointments - then appointments go on app ( if that makes sense)

Have to travel via public transport so have a mask and hand gel anyway plus Nhs staff wear them.

  • Hi Except the CT scans which I have to attend I requested yesterday to only have phone consultations.

My main hospital is where they bring the virus patients and i am scared there even to take a breath and also dont have to travel for 5 min "how are you" consultation on the public transport.Luckily my chemo is in another non virus and clean hospital where they dont have even an A&E so not so busy with people walking around.

Even the scan results they tell me over the phone no need for me to look in to someones face to tell me the good or bad news. I just write down the questions or meds I need to be prescribed.
