Base of tongue and tonsil tumour!!

Hi everyone,

hope you doing well. Me, not really :(

1 week ago, my partner was sent to an MRI of the clavicle because of pain in her arm and hand. They saw unintentionally a mass from the base of her tongue and tonsillar fossa. Now the GP referred her to be seen in approx 2 weeks but we are really worried and crying everyday as you can imagine, this is not a pleasant moment.
Just for information, she had a surgery when she was in her late teen of a benign tumour on the side of her cheek and they might have damage brachial nerve therefore the pain irradiating to her arm and hand.

I am looking for similar experiences, to know what to think while waiting for this appointment.....

thanks a lot

  • Hello Audrey

I'm sorry to hear that your partner is dealing with some health concerns at the moment. We know that many of our members here will understand how difficult it can be waiting for appointments, tests and results. It's natural to fear the worst but try to take things a day at a time and not think too far ahead about the whats and ifs. It wil lonly make you both more anxious.

If you'd like to speak to one of our nurses for some advice and support then you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040 (Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm).

    Best wishes,
