Too many cooks!

I had a CT scan 6 weeks after my last chemo to confirm how well it had worked on my prostrate. I was due an appointment with my oncologist to discuss the findings however, I arrived at the hospital only to receive a phone call from the registrar to say my oncologist no longer works there. He told me they have not had time to rearrange new appointments yet, but he had seen my scan and told me that the cancer had greatly reduced. (result!) He then went on to tell me that he has seen something on my lung – which he described as a very different beast!!! and that a biopsy would be needed. (gasp!!!) 2 weeks later I get a call from my new oncologist who said he would arrange an appointment for July and that he doesn't think the what was found on my lung is anything to be concerned about. (Yeah!) 3 days later I get a call from a lung specialist. She went on to tell me that they don’t think it's cancer but they do need to find out what it is. Due to its position it would be impossible to insert a needle to take a biopsy as it is behind a bone. So, she recommended a PET scan and a breathing test to see if with would be ok to do a Bronchoscopy. BUT then when on to say we need to know what type of cancer you have!!!

So…. I have a very different beast in my lung but it's nothing to worry about and that they need to know what type of cancer it is!!
Anyhow, I had my PET scan and breathing test last week and I am now waiting to see what they say!

  • Hello,

Gulp, its good to hear that at least one person has a grasp of the situation, even if it is yourself using conflicting views. Its good news about the reduction of your existing cancer.l hope they put their best feet forward and arrange for tests quickly and that the news from that  is good.

Got too admire your laconic post though,

                                                                         good luck ,

                                                                                             David
