I'm my case I did have delay due to covid-19. I was told by the GP it would be a 2 week wait, however it was actually 4 weeks.  I called the hospital after the 2 weeks to find out when it would be as I was getting anxious waiting. They told me there was a 6-8 week waiting list due to covid-19, but thankfully it was quicker than that. 

Perhaps give them a call. At least then you'll have an idea of how long you'll be waiting. It seems to depend on your area and how busy it is. 

Hopefully you won't have too much longer to wait x

Thank you so much for your reply. Although not ideal to have to wait so long it does give me reassurance that my referral hasn't gotten lost as you start to suspect it has when things take a while.

If the postman doesn't come with anything tomorrow I will definately follow it up with the GP.

I saw my GP around 3 and a half weeks ago, they did the usual 2 week referral but I'm still waiting for my appointment to come through. To say I'm anxious would be an understatement, breast cancer runs in my family, on both maternal and paternal side, so I'm worried. And since I've been to the Dr, literally everything I see now is to do with breast cancer. I can't seem to get away from it

Was wondering how you got on with this, how long did it take in the end for you to get an appointment after seeing the gp? 

I've been told the wait in my area for urgent can be up to 10 weeks now! I'm 2 weeks into waiting and debating whether to pay £450 or more for private consultation and ultrasound. Not ideal but I'm 17 weeks pregnant and wait is killing me. 

How did yours turn out?
