Ultrasound on neck lump

Hey everyone,

just posting here to see if anyone has been in the same situation as me and can offer any advice?

Im a 27 year old male who noticed that my tonsils were asymmetrical back in October and the ENT has decided to remove that one tonsil but he wasn't worried and said it wasn't urgent. However a few weeks later I noticed a lump on the other side of my neck below my jaw, it is movable but I wouldn't say it is soft and squishy.. I went back to the ENT who also said this is not of concern and the fact it's on the other side of the affected tonsil they would not be related but would send my for an Ultrasound to be sure.

I had the ultrasound this morning and and the radiographer really wasn't saying much even though i was asking him questions, he was asking if the ENT was concerned when he felt it and whether I was having any other symptoms, I pointed out that I've had it since October, at least that's when I first noticed it and it hasn't changed at all or gotten bigger or anything. He said it looks like an enlarged lympnode but that he would have to have a look at all the images first and send the report to the ENT. He said he didn't want me to worry but that he would do the report today.. I don't know whether he is worried or if it urgent or not. I guess I'll just have to wait and see but it is strange to me that I've had this lump for 8 months and no sign of infection or anything. It's been hanging over my head for months and it took so long to get the ultrasound cause of Covid, the only reason I got an apt today was because I called them and they decided to send me private to have it done.

sorry for the rant but just needed to air this out and hopefully talk to a few other people in the same situation

all the best
