Swollen lymph nodes for almost two years

In 2018 July I got diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis. While going for an ultrasound to check for possible thyroid nodules, my ultrasound showed bilateral cervical reactive lymph nodes- Meaning the lymph nodes under my jaw on both  sides were reactive to something. I didn't have an infection nor did I feel sick. I just always felt kind of stuffy like I had a very very dull cold. My nodes were enlarged but painless and only felt faintly tender when poked. I got sent home with antibiotics and was told to come back for a scan in two months. Two months later, my lymph nodes were still reactive. They had not changed in size.  My doctor diagnosed me with lymphadenopathy but did not seem concerned because she said my autoimmune disease could be the reason my lymph nodes were reactive. By September 2018, I was losing my mind at the idea of cancer. A CT scan on my neck showed hypoechoic lymph nodes but my doctor still did not seem concerned about sending me to an ENT for a biopsy. No one could tell me what was going on or why my nodes were still swollen.

it is now June 2020 and after almost two years of no change, day before yesterday I noticed a small lump right under my chin. It is not painful but tender when poked. I haven't showed any other symptoms other than my lumps. I do get a little breathless with activity but that could just be because of my high bmi that I am currently taking care of.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I am going in to do a blood test and schedule another ultrasound to see what is happening at the moment. I am super anxious. Fingers crossed

  • Read your message with interest as my recent MRI has mentioned similar phrases as your post and I have no real answers (although I appreciate that my wait for answers pales in comparison to yours.)

Hope you manage to get some answers soon and they are positive.
