Biopsy and scan ok but want to re-scan in 2 months.

Hi so short story to get started.... I found a lump 5 weeks ago in my neck rather large  had bloods done which were fine apparently a few thinks slightly out. Just had biopsy and ultrasound results and apparently also ok. So o don't have an answer. I have noticed other things though, weight lose , temps at night even though im stripping as much as possible and constant neck ache. Could all be nothing, also lump doesn't hurt.

The hospital doctor has said he wants re-scan in 2 months. But I've not read anywhere on here that being the case for anyone. So if anyone reads this have you be re-scanned? If you haven't do you know why they would with clear scans? And is it possible to get a false negative for a biopsy (a needle biopsy). Super confused neither go or hospital doctor has said to take any antibiotics or anything. I'm sure a lump doesn't appear for no reason

thanks for any replies!

  • Hello Isimmo,

Lumps can appear for all sorts of reasons and your doctor's recommendation can differ depending on each case. It seems like your recent results came back ok, so it might be that your doctor wants to review the lump in 2 months. I'd suggest you contact them again to help answer your questions and keep in touch with them if your symptoms change.

    I hope that helps,
