Lump bigger after biopsy

Hi,

I have a small solid lump in my left breast that was biopsied on Wednesday.  The lump was small and mobile but now it's bigger and seems fixed. Is this normal?  I'm hoping it's just internal swelling or something from the procedure but I can't help but worry.  Has anyone experienced this?

I'm supposed to be getting my results next Friday by phone. I had a scare this time last year with a mole and I kind of can't believe I'm waiting for biopsy results again!  It's going to be a long week.

  • Hi Newmum,

Hopefully some of our members who have been in this position will offer their support and share their experiences with you soon but whilst you wait I just wanted to share some information I've found about waiting for news.

I hope this helps you get through the next few days and you get good news on Friday.

  • Hi

Im in a similar situation where I had biopsy taken and since then the lump which is mobile have gotten much bigger and I'm feeling dull pain as well.I have been waiting 4weeks for the results which hopefully I will get tomorrow.Hope we will get good results in the end....so nervous!

  • Hi,

I really hope that you get good news tomorrow, four weeks is a long time to be kept waiting. Mine turned out to be nothing, thank goodness. I think it's normal for the lump to feel bigger after the biopsy. Mine went back down after a few months so hopefully it will be the same few you.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow x
