Please, some advice regarding lymph nodes in groin

Hi all,

About 2 months ago I found a pea sized lump in my groin - it's kinda hard and wobbles a little under the skin. My original Dr said to just keep an eye on it but after another couple of weeks I was still worried so I spoke to a different Dr who said I should have a full blood count and ultrasound - the full blood count has come back satisfactory. I had the ultrasound and expected answers yesterday but the sonographer said she couldn't tell me anything. The lymph node measured 7mm.. and she said there were a few like that in the area. When I looked at the screen I thought oh they look ok but since going home and googling ultrasound pictures they look like the worrying sort! I've had anian ultrasound earlier this year for something else and that was normal. I have no other symptoms other than a little 7mm lump I can feel... But I'm going out of my mind with worry! I've read that anything under 1cm isn't normally concerning but the pictures sat different to me ... Just want some advice really x

  • Hi I would advice if you are worried it might be worth ringing your doctor's surgery and ask if the results of your ultrasound are back yet. I had an ultrasound done on my leg to check for DVT no clots were found but they did find enlarged lymph nodes in my groin the biggest measuring 24x13x19mm which was abnormal. If there was anything concerning you would of been contacted by your doctor. I was given the results of my ultrasound the next day. Hope this has helped you to stop worrying too much I hope it is good news for you.
