Will breast cancer show on a CT scan?

Long story short I have a CT scan with contrast on 1st June to look for cancer in the abdominal cavity. However, they are also scanning my thorax

amongst everything that's been going on I have not been checking my breasts, stupidly I was looking for cancer in other areas and now I think my breast may be the culprit. There is a misshapen mass in the middle of the breast which is firm and I have had neuropathy for the past 2 months which makes me think it's spreading

ive bothered my gp so much they have told me I'm not a priority and that I'm "just majorly depressed" and that there's nothing wrong with me so I am scared to even tell them about my new finding

will it show breast cancer on a ct scan with contrast? Thank you

  • Hi Krissy first of all attitude of your GP sucks and its you shouldnt be treated like that.Regarding the CT yes it shows suspicious masses but better if you could have also a kind of biopsy  or mammogram or ultrasound on that mass because it doesnt have to be cancerous might be just a cyst.

I am having CT scans every 3 months to see how is my treatment working and the scan report always mentioning only a "mass" in my breast. Because I am stage 4 breast cancer they dont bother anymore with mammogram anymore.

You need to bit "pushy"these days because its your health and even in these days you have the right for NHS treatment and not to be told its nothing wrong with you.

  • Thank you so much for the response, everything is absolutely horrendous. I think realistically speaking whatever cancer I have is spreading. The whole of my right lymphatic duct seems to be affected (right arm, right of chest, right of neck and head) it's like that area is not draining properly. Is this something you've experienced?

im so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. When were you diagnosed? X

  • Hi Krissy I hope the CT will shed some light whats wrong witj you.It might not be cancer at all.I know its very worrying but try not to think about the worse scenario. As I said they have to and should do prpper testing. For example me I was dignosed in May 2019 with breast cancer recurrence with mets in my lungs.I had CT scan+lung biopsy to confirm. But I am ok chemo still workin tumors in liver and kidney dissapeared also my lung nodules are shrinking.
