I've done lots of research and lymphoma can have lots of different subtypes. The main ones though are Hodgkin's lymphoma and non-hodgkins lymphoma. The Hodgkins is different because of a cell I think it's called reed stembueg or something like that but it's a lot easier to treat (from what I've read) and tends to be more common when young people are diagnosed with lymphoma. However, lymphoma regardless is one of the blood cancers which from what I've read can be treated quite easily the majority (although some of the rarer subtypes can be watch and wait due to slow growing etc) but stage 4 lymphoma doesn't have the same prognosis as someone with a different cancer say for example breast cancer. Lymphoma is in the lymph system so where white blood cells are you know when you get a sore throat and you have glands come up.. well they are all connected so it's very easy for cancer to go from one gland in your throat to another in your armpit, lung even spleen! But it can still be very treatable! 
 

in terms of your husband being a key worker, I would see if he can take the time off work. Lymphoma is on the shielding list and considering he hasn't got a normal blood count range I personally wouldn't want him working taking the risk!!

im not a doctor though and there lots of info on lymphoma website but this is what I've taken from my research! Obviously each case is different depending on the type of lymphoma but some are very rare!

Also many many things can cause swelling of lymph nodes! Mine seem to be constantly palpable and in my eyes swollen x

Thanks for replying x the doctor gave us 2 options for him to have swollen lymph nodes he could have an infection or lymphoma. Then said and I'll tell u now you don't have an infection so basically saying it's lymphoma but because the test hasn't came back she can't confirm it. That is the only thing she spoke about there was no other alternative she spoke about chemo and radiotherapy but said we need to see how aggressive it is. 

Oh no I'm so sorry that's not very professional is it!! Did she say how swollen they were? I have swollen ones in my neck, but not too swollen I can feel them but ultrasound said they are okay. Chest X-ray was okay and now having an mri next week because 6 months later I can still feel them in my armpits neck and collarbone! My bloods have been normal though! 
 

I truly understand the worry my son is 17 months and it's been really taking over my mental health for the last 6 months! But please don't panic yet! They can only confirm from a biopsy and a pet scan to stage it if it is indeed cancer. But lymphoma as a whole is quite treatable regardless of stage, the subtype does depend like you said on how aggressive it is. I would call and say if you suspect this can I have a medical note to shield my husband from working, as lymphoma is on the shielding list because it lowers the immune systems ability to fight of infections so if your husband had this and then had the virus his body would struggle more and since his bloods are lower they should!

Sorry to hear your husband has just been told there testing him for lymphoma.

This must be worrying for you but he is in good hands.

I'm not sure about the shielding, maybe NHS 111 will be able to tell you about shielding.
