Any advice and support?

Hi all, I hope your all ok, so I woke up a month ago with a huge very painful lump in my right breast. Immediately called the doctor who put me on a course of antibiotics.
the lump/pain reduced significantly but was still there so was the it on another course of antibiotics.
Even after finishing them the lump is still there, the doctor has examined the lump and now referred me to the Brest clinic. I'm a single mum with 2 teenage boys. I'm telling myself it's just an abscess that's taking its time but now I'm scared. What should I expect at the clinic?

  • Hi there ...

Firstly, most lumps are benign... 8.5 out of ten are o.k ...  my first four call backs from mamorgrams were all clear .. one was like a flat pebble ... I was sure it must have been cancer .. some were like pea size .. one ached .. one diddnt ... it was only my 5th one that was positive ..

I don't know if it's changed now with carona .. but when I went, I was firstly given a mamorgram ... then a scan , Simerla to the one that scans the baby ... then a biopsy of the lump... some give a result same day.. some have to be sent away, with about a two week wait ...for result ..

But try to stay as busy as possible... try not to look ahead and do the what ifs... that sends you in panic mode ...  so hopefully yours will be a good result .. but if not, there's lots of us breast lasses on here... l came on here nearly three years ago... I had a grade three... and started taking to other breast lasses ..all different stages and treatments... and we helped each other through the ups and downs... and wer all still here .. most have gone back to their life post cancer... a couple of us stayed around to chat to new ones, or those like you waiting ... breast cancer has come a long way .. so hold on in there ..

Let us know how you go ... Chrissie x
