Biopsy after hysteroscopy results

I had a hysteroscopy two weeks ago and I've had a call from the hospital today to come in for a face to face gynae appointment this Thursday. I'm going out of my mind with worry now. I had a 23mm endometrium and multiple polyps removed during the hysteroscopy and a Mirena put it. A biopsy was done at the same time. I'm petrified that the biopsy has shown something nasty. They did mention hyperplasia at my appointment but now I'm worried that the speed of the follow up means it's something really nasty.

  • I'm just waiting for my hysteroscopy appointment.  What a worry for you, fingers crossed that it isn't anything sinister.  May be just a chat to treat the hyperplasia?  Things are going back to normal for hospitals so the quick response may be where they are getting back on track with non covid19 patients?

I will keep everything crossed for you.

Please do keep in touch x

  • Thank you for your reply. I hope it is something like that. I would imagine, given my age, that if the hyperplasia is atypical then they may suggest a hysterectomy. Tbh, I'm happy with that. My childbearing days are over, I have two in their early 20s and am totally fed up of periods. I'm just worrying through fear of the unknown.
