Lymphoma

Hi,

I've been going back and forth to the doctors for months with different symptoms of lymphoma, yet being told it isn't anything. I have shooting pains/tingling in one side of my head, a swollen lymph node (not extremely big but you can feel it), sweating at night trying to sleep, tired all the time and breathlessness. my knees downwards are extremely tickle/itchy/tingly all the time. My throat feels tight all the time yet the doctor tells me to just wait a couple weeks and see what happens. I've been given tablets for reflux etc but I amnt sure if they are helping.

im only 19 so it's quite nerve wracking for me.

anyone got any advice on what to do?

thanks

  • I'm in the same boat Lucy !

sorry to hear you aren't being listened to. My symptoms are slightly different I have a few palpable but not "swollen" lymph nodes mostly on the left side of my body and in my neck including my collarbone (worries me the most) but a cm-2cm in my armpit   and a weird blister looking thing on my tonsil that isn't an infection lol!

just keep ringing every day. I have an appointment Friday over the phone with my doctor. I've had swabs, bloods, ultrasounds, chest X-ray and been told they are reactive but no idea what to. If I didn't have the collarbone one right under my skin and discomfort from my armpit one or the weird tonsil thing I'd probably be satisfied with the tests but I'm not especially with coronavirus making it seem more vital to need the answers. I have a toddler to run around after too!

I'm 24 and it's been going on at least since I was 23.

I hope you get answers soon x

  • Maybe ask for a second opinion especially as night sweats and itching. Do you drink alcohol ? Do you get any pain when drinking ? And how big is your swollen node? X

  • I've had bloods done and nothing else, I have 1 swollen tonsil which is really strange too. Hope everything is fine with you and thanks for getting in touch!

  • My swollen node isn't very big but it feel like there's more than 1 in the same area. If I drink alcohol my body tends to go quite strange, can be sore around my neck (not specifically my lymph node) and my armpit but never thought any of this too. I lost loads of weight at christmas time around 1 stone but never thought anything of it.

  • Hi everyone, I'm 14 and I'm in a similar boat. I've had an intermitten fever since November, and in February I noticed a hard lump under my armpit which has grown to about the size of a ping pong ball. I went to the doctors three weeks ago and they said it may be glandular fever. We were told to ring back in three weeks if nothing goes away. Since I went to the doctors I have experienced more strange symptoms. I've discovered more grape sized lumps in my neck and have had stabbing pains in my chest and abdomen aswell as breathlessness. I am also extremely fatigued and very sweaty at night, still got a fever. I also have absolutely no appetite and have lost about 5 pounds in the last few weeks without trying. Ringing the doctors again tomorrow, hope you all find some answers x

  • Hello, I hope you are okay and you were seen by a specialist and everything was fine. I am in a similar boat to you but it is my boyfriend going through this and I am petrified.

My boyfriend has a huge golf sized lump on the front of his neck, slightly towards the right. He often has small bumps on his neck that come and go and we thought nothing of it. He also suffers badly with night sweats.

He went to the doctor today because of the unusual lump on his neck and he was told that it is suspected cancer. They also found some on his groin area. He has an urgent appointment next week for further tests. He is in his early 20s. He has also lost over 3st in a few months.
I feel physically sick. I don't know what to do.

  • How is your bf, did he get an answer?

  • Hi Holly1205

Just read your post and thought I'd see how you are and what happened next.

    Hope you're ok x
