Now had 3 tests, scans, one to go

Still waiting for information and results but keep going for tests for soft cell sarcoma

Had X-ray, blood test, 1 ultrasound, 2 MRI one with dye. Just waiting for needle biopsy appointment which should be next week. Ongoing  since early March.

Not had results which am guessing is because tests not completed yet - would like some information but nobody committing so am assuming - and ready - for bad news.

The waiting and in the dark is the worst!

  • Hi

From my experience you will only get the results when all the tests are completed, I had a colonoscopy in early Jan which identified cancer, five scans were done after that, and only then did I get the consultants appointment, 12 Feb, to explain what was found and the treatment required. One scan was done on the day of the consultants appointment!

I know its hard to remain positive but the one full diagnosis is better than being drip fed with amended results afer each test/scan.

    Wishing you a positive outcome.

  • Thank you for replying, your right ofcourse but it's hard isn't it to think positively

Lucky at moment to get seen at all so that's encouraging re treatment

Wishing you all the best. X

  • Hi

Remaining positive is the hardest part, the more time between scans/treatments gives you chance to 'feel/sense' more issues, you became a hyperchondriac unwillingly!

Keep strong and don't let the buggers get you down.

  • Hospital rang Friday,  appointment Tuesday but she said for another Ultrasound and then depending on result, a biopsy straight afterwards- or not. Hoping that will finally be end of diagnostic  appointments  and I can tell family  what's been going on - when results are through !

Such a difficult time for everyone at the minute to cope with everything but at least Cancer isn't on back boiler, diagnosis or treatment

  • Went to the hospital yesterday and they told me I was having needle biopsy with US to guide. A Dr and 2 nurses there who were lovely and professional. After treatment was put on day ward for an hour so they could watch for bleeding, bonus coffee and biscuits. I had a 2hr journey home and took painkillers before I left. Painful today so taking it easy.

Will finally get all results- hopefully soon. Long time since early March

  • Hi

Glad your tests are progressing - fingers crossed for a quick result, and prompt treatment.
