Breast lump uncertainty

In October last year I found two lumps in my breast, promptly made GP appt and the following week attended where he did an examination but in a very different way from my self exam- he fel nothing but did agree when conducting exam in the way I @self examined" he could, but that his method of effectively squeezing and rolling like the plates of a mammogram was the method they were advised to use. He did send an email to the breast clinic to seek their advice who asked him to monitor but they didn't believe it to be anything.

So now I feel a third "lump" but am cautious of wasting GP time especially even entering the surgery at this current time. My confusion comes from not knowing why my exam differs from GP's and scared that it's not being properly checked out. The other two lumps are still there, so is this just a third fatty lump of change in breast with age (43)

i was also told only first line relative history which counts, albeit my maternal grandmother had and died of breast cancer.

Any advice on what to do? I did have a second check up in Jan "keeping an eye" but not since as obvs C-19 took over.

  • Welcome to the forum Albamum although I'm sorry to read what's troubling you.

If you have found another lump then it is advisable to book in at your GP surgery so you can get it checked. As mentioned here, it's really important to get any changes seen to as soon as possible.

Hopefully some of our members will offer their advice to you soon as well.
