Recurring bad news - low grade dyskaryosis

Hi,

I had my annual smear results back the other day and I also have low grade Dyskaryosis and I too am spiralling into a world of panic and due to the current situation they are only offering to see me over zoom on my private health care. The difference for me is that this isn't the first time I've had it. 6 years ago I had to have a cone biopsy to remove the cells and have had normal smears until now. Since it's retuned I feel like this can only mean very bad news and I'm very scared. Has anyone else had a similar experience where they have had treatment before and this has happened?

  • Hi Debbieleac,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can certainly understand your worries although do try not to worry too much at this stage. Sometimes mild cell changes can go back to normal by themselves - you can read more about what different results mean here. As you have an appointment booked, the doctor/specialist will discuss everything with you, including any next steps as appropriate. Do use the appointment as an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

    Wishing you all the best,
