Lump on 2 year olds neck

Just wanted some advice really, we discovered a pea sized lump in September 2019 on my sons neck, he was ill at the time so took no notice but over the months it's more prominent and can notice it sticking out of his neck..

I spoke to a doctor 3 weeks ago who without seeing him told me " oh it's just a lymph node nothing to worry about " however I don't feel happy with this and it's still there 3 weeks later so going to call tommorow, I read a lot about leukaemia in children with lumps in neck was wondering if anyone had advice or has experienced this?

  • Hi

My daughter had very similar aged 3 n I was convinced it was something horrific, fast forward 12 years n she still had it.

Nothing at all was wrong with her.

She's now 18 n I can no longer feel or see it :)

  • Hello Littlemumma,

I am sorry but I have had to remove your photo as we don't allow any photos of a medical nature to be uploaded on the forum as no one here will be able to diagnose or tell you more about what it may be. You are doing the right thing if you are worried to give your doctor a call tomorrow - your GP will be in the best position to advise you further on this.

I can imagine this is really stressful for you and I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow and keep everything crossed for you and your little one that you get the reassurance you need after you speak to your GP.

    Best wishes,
