Lump in armpit and crusty nipples

Hi

Sorry if this is tmi but I'm really freaking out and just need to know of anyone else in this situation had a positive outcome. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and about 4 months ago my nippes went kind of yellowy and crusty. I stupidly put it down to being some sort of weird pregnancy symptom but in the last 2 months I noticed a lump that was getting bigger under my armpit, it feels hard and doesn't move but isn't sore. I eventually got to see my GP yesterday as its hard to get apt with all this coronavirus stuff going on. She's referring me for an intrasound but seemed to be more concerned about the changes in the nipples. Everything I've googled comes up with bad news and is terrifying. I'm so stressed out now about this on top of everything else going on. Has anyone experienced this and not had a bad diagnosis?

  • Hello I have not experienced this but I can understand why you are anxious especially being pregnant. I have put no fear into myself by googling symptoms so I will try and refrain from that if I were you. If you are really worried you could try phoning 111 they are open 24 hours a day and a really helpful you will get to speak to a clinician hopefully.

    Hi gillers,

    Welcome to our forum.

I am sorry to hear of your symptoms.  I am not a medic, just a cancer pilgrim, so I cannot tell you anything about this. I know from reading posts from pregnant ladies on this forum over the past 10 years, that there are several different reasons for breast changes during pregnancy, or even after the baby's birth.

I am glad to hear that you have already been referred for an ultrasound. Has your GP also referred you to a breast clinic? If not, please ensure that she does if anything suspicious appears on your ultrasound. Try your best to stay away from Google. You will only scare yourself even more if you continue to do this.

Do please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
