Worried I may have cervical cancer.

The last few months I've been getting various symptoms and they seem to be getting worse. It started of with light pain during sex, also bleeding during sex a good handful of times also. My lower right stomach is tender not all the time but often. It seems to have gotten worse, I'm bleeding very lightly only small amounts after sex and sex has become alot more painful. Because of COVID-19 I'm unable to have a smear test or a pelvic exam so I tried to check my cervix myself, my cervix seems very low that I could see it, also theirs a red patch on my cervix which bleeds when touched, it's not sore or inflamed just a red patch or skin on half of my cervix. I'm only 24 and have 2 children I'm so worried I'm not sure if I could do anything to be able to get seen by someone. Any advice would be great

  • Hi Laur1978

The government are doing a big campaign just now (or at least in Scotland they are) about not ignoring symptoms you find and to still contact your gp, I'd push for an appointment and examination.

Explain it's causing you real anxiety and physical pain and hopefully that helps get an appointment. If not see how much a private test is. Sometimes it's worth paying, to put your mind at rest.

    Nic

  • Hi

I had some problems with discharge between periods. I called my GP and went in the next day for a smear and tests.

She contacted me today to say HPV and abnormal cella so I have to go for a coloscopy.

I am scared stiff about it all including that is happening with COVID-19. See if you can get an appointment

  • Hi I had a gynocologist give me a telephone appointment today after being referred by my doctor, with my symptoms his refered me for a urgent 2 week Colposcopy and pelvic scan. I'm worried sick thinking they will tell me awful news but trying not to think about it hope yours goes well.
