Worried about pain in face

Hi all I joined the forum last year as I was referred for suspected cancer which turned out to be a salivary stone. I'm currently still waiting to have the stone removed there was an attempt to remove the stone last year but it wasn't successful. Since then I have had 3 episodes of facial pain which goes into my neck and shoulder the first time it happened I was told it would probably be pinched nerve and was treated for that then it happened again a few months later and was referred to muscloskeletal and was given neck exercises. It's recently returned but much worse and I was massaging my scalp trying to ease the pain and discovered a lump in the back of head I'm not sure what to think each time this has happened I've also been breaking out in facial sweats and night sweats but the doctor said there was no temperature really confused and don't know who to ask or what to do. Sorry about the long message but it's really getting me down now.  Any advice would be helpful

  • Hi Jaqui,

I'm sorry to read about the troubles you've been having. The only thing I can really suggest is to revisit your doctor to try to get some answers as to why this keeps occurring. Also to keep up with any exercises and advice you've received previously. It's only really your doctor who can advise on this so do give them a call if you have concerns and if you feel things aren't improving.

If you'd like to talk anything through with our nurses then you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

    Wishing you all the best,
