Large elliptical lump in neck

hello

Jan last year I found a really large gland come up in my groin and then noticed one in my neck. I saw a dr a year ago who did bloods said they were fine (not entirely sure if they did a full blood count) and said my groin lump was probs from shaving and brushed off the one in my neck. He made me feel a little silly to be honest so I tried to forget about it, However the past 18months I've had a low appetite once a week night sweats. And I've noticed the one in my neck is not going down. It feels like I have a round lump under the chin and further down on the right of my throat I have a large probs 2-2.5cm elliptical lump, it's fairly hard not painful and almost feels like it's split in two. The right side of my neck feels Thicker than the left and I've noticed some More come up in my right side of groin. I have bloods scheduled but because of Coronavirus my ENT referral is via video link. I feel terrified as I've been googling I know I shouldbt. but also because they won't be able to touch it or do any of the proper checks. lDoes anyone know what will happen with  Coronavirus whether I will still be able to get scan etc? or has anyone got any positive stories for this kind of issue. Feel very alone.

  • Hello Neckalump and a warm welcome to our forum!

I can understand your worry at the moment and the nervousness about the fact that your ENT referral will be via video link but you will still be seen by a specialist who is a leading expert in these neck lumps. Even though they are not able to carry out examinations in the ways they used to, they will still be able to advise you and tell you more about it I am sure and also whether they think you need to have a scan. You are right it is best not to consult Dr Google at the moment who is famously unreliable so while you are waiting, try and keep busy and distracted if you can and I hope you won't have to wait too long for your appointment.

I hope that you will also hear from others here who have been in a similar situation before and have positive stories to share with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you for good blood results and that eveything turns out to be fine.

    Best wishes,
