Hi, I received my smear results this week and i have to go for a colposcopy,as i have abnormal cells and HPV which i must admit have got me worried, at 61 i know im in a dangerous age. i have a couple of questions, a does it hurt!!! and i had a myrena coil fitted 15 years ago, when i went to have it removed after 5 years the dr said leave it as it still had contraceptive on aand as i was menopausal, it would help which it has, but when i had my smear the nurse did say it needs to come out, what worries me is how will they get it our after all this time, i imagine it having bedded itself inside by now and could this being let in so long have cause the problems i now seem to have, although i have had no complaints about it in.

any help advice will be greatly appreciated
