Hi I am 23 years old. Round about 2 months ago I was checking my throat in the mirror to see if it was red as my throat was sore and I found a lump near/on my right tonsil. I didn't tell anyone as I thought it would disappear but mostly because I didn't want my family to worry about it. I have been experiencing pain in that area as well as the right side of my jaw and neck and also my right ear for 2 months on and off. Last week (Thursday morning) I started having excruciating pain in the same areas as explained, I was crying and felt sick with the pain (this went on for about 4 or 5 days). Last Friday, I rang my GP, couldn't get an appointment due to this coronavirus lockdown. I told the GP that paracetomal wasn't touching the pain so he said "we'll try numbing spray but unfortunately I can't see you about the lump until this coronavirus lockdown is over but if it's still there by the time it's over then I would like to have a look at it" but I'm thinking like "when will this end?". Forgot to add near the beginning that I showed my parents the lump last Thursday and they said they could see 2 lumps. So tried the numbing spray but the pain got worse throughout Friday so I had to ring the out of hours doctors, the doctor said "I don't know what the lump is and I can't see you about it, only your GP can see you about it. But I do believe that sore throat could be tonsillitis. But I want you and your family to isolate as coronavirus can start as a sore throat" but I got the coronavirus test done and it came back clear thankfully. I checked my throat last night as it was causing a bit of pain again, the 2 lumps have gotten bigger and I found another lump. I showed my parents and they said that they could still see them along with the new lump. So I'm getting quite worried now. I don't smoke or drink but I certainly don't think these lumps are normally also they don't have any white patches on them, they are pink. I feel like I've constantly got a piece of food stuck in my throat and I feel as if someone is pushing their finger on that side of my neck. My antibiotics end tomorrow, apparently it takes a week for antibiotics to get out of your system so I'm going to wait a week to see what happens, but I don't think these lumps will go away because of how much they've progressed and formed.
Does anybody know what this could be?
I'm going to ring my GP again in a week or 2 if the lumps haven't went away. Apparently the GP will only see you if they think it's serious enough. But what if my GP decides that they actually want to wait til the lockdown is over?
Many Thanks
