Hi guys,
Not sure where to begin with this. My mum just turned 59, she was losing weight over the last 4-5 months and had a lingering dry cough and was feeling slightly nauseous, went for lots of tests (colonoscopy, endoscopy and CT) and they saw abnormalities in her lung about a month ago then did a lymph biopsy...results were inconclusive but through an MDT meeting they have suggested it's most likely pancreatic cancer and is spreading, she is waiting for a special endoscopy to determine this and to move forward with treatment options..it's been a long painful wait and COVID is clearly delaying things.
I have had to relay every bit of info to her because I work in healthcare and she wanted me to speak on her behalf, but it has been very tough to continue to offer her hope but having very little information myself to go on. My siblings are younger and I am not sure they are aware of what's most likely to come. Trying to stay clear headed and not sure what I should be doing at this stage. She is being strong but she has also suffered with strong depression in the past, we will take each day as it comes but pancreatic cancer is tricky.
Anyone have a similar experience or any words of wisdom? Much appreciated.
