Lump

Hi

i was diagnosed with lung cancer 18 months ago. Surgery to remove left lower lobe.  Two suspicious nodules in my right lung are being monitored. Two days ago I found a small lump in my left breast. I am terrified. Rang my gp who has got me an appointment at the breast clinic on Monday. So quick. So appreciative. I am now terrified it's metastasis from lung and also going into a hospital clinic with Covid19 still about. Has anyone been in this situation that can help calm my nerves?  If it is cancer then I guess it's stage 4? Lung cancer? My head is banging this morning.

  • Hello RONNIE,

I can imagine this has been a really stressful time for you especially as you had lung cancer surgery recently. It is normal to feel worried but I think it's good that they are being thorough and that you have been given an appointment for Monday at the breast clinic. I can imagine it is all the more stressful for you as you have to go to the hospital in the current Covid19 climate. I know it's really hard but try not to anticipate what it might be and resist the inevitable urge to look anything up online or it will only make you feel more worried.

I hope that you will hear from other forum members who have been in this situation and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

Our nurses are also available on this free number 0808 800 4040 Monday to Friday - their line is open from 9am to 5pm if you want to talk things through with them.

Best of luck for your appointment tomorrow. I hope it all goes well! Keep us updated if you can.  We are keeping everything crossed for you.

    Best wishes,
