Scared as can’t get investigations

Hi 

I've been suffering from abdo pain since Jan and other bowel symptoms . I had a positive FIT test result which was very high according to my GP . He referred me to colorectal team under 2 week rule . 
I had a telephone consultation with surgeon on Tuesday who said I needed a colonoscopy to look fit bowel cancer but I can't have one as they are not doing them due to covid 19 ! 
to say I was shocked was an understatement ! 
He said I can have a CT scan if I want one but may not show up if there is a tumour and that there is a longer than normal wait for CT scan 

I'm now left terrified that I have cancer and further delays will impact on the outcome 

I feel helpless as there is nothing I can do ! 
I have tried finding somewhere private to have it done but all private hospitals tell me the same thing 

it seems no one is is carrying out colonoscopies at the moment 

Are there others experiencing the same thing ?

    Your story sounds identical to

    mine.  I have a CT tomorrow , I'm very worried what it might find. But I can't bury my head in sand any longer .  Hope you managed to get seen soon

    Hello...I'm in a very similar situation ...was told 4 wks ago following a positive FIT test that I needed an urgent colonoscopy, but since then just had to wait it out . I got a call yesterday from hospital to say I will be contacted within a fortnight advising me where to go for Covid19 test and then where and when colonoscopy will be. I'm in Scotland and so each region maybe different , but I am so thankful services are starting back up . Wishing you well x

    I'm glad to hear that you are at least seeing some progression with getting your tests 

    nothing here so far but I have got my local MP on the case 

    I know for a fact that my local hospital currently had 700 empty beds and staff waiting around incase of a further influx of covid 19 - we have so far been lucky here with the amount of cases needing hospital beds - ciyerntly only about 70 in hospital 

    I ve also heard on the news that this issue has been raised and they are planning to reintroduce cancer investigations soon so fingers crossed for us all
