Small hard immobile lump under/in breast

Hi, I'm a 24 year old female and I have a small (maybe a cm or less?) hard immobile lump sort of under my left breast but still in the breast tissue (like where the bra wire goes, if that makes sense?). I found it in the shower while washing but could never feel it once I was out (I didn't realise it was just because the soap was making it easier to feel). I kept brushing it off stupidly. Anyway it's been almost 2 months now and I'm now sort of able to feel it without the soap, I can't tell if it's gotten bigger but I can now feel another very tiny hard lump next to it, it's so tiny I'm not sure what to compare it to size-wise. Google says if it's immobile then it's cancer. I'm so scared. I have cysts in my other breast and it feels very different. The cysts are mobile and I can feel the edges whereas these tiny lumps seem to be implanted. I'm seeing the doctor today thankfully but I know how long it can take to get scans and tests etc so I really need some emotional support right now. :(

    Hi Rainbell,

Welcome to our forum, although I'm sorry to hear why you've joined us.

I am glad to hear that you are seeing your GP today and I hope that he'll refer you t the breast clinic for further tests. Try to avoid consulting Dr Google at present. You will find that much of the information is out of date, poorly researched and aimed at the spectacular cases. This will terrify you further.

I developed a small lump in my right breast 10 years ago. It was in a similar position to yours and was hard and fixed. Sadly it did turn out to be cancer. I then had a lumpectomy followed by Tamoxifen. I discovered another lump in the same area a year later and had a double mastectomy, followed by Letrozole.

It is always one of the most scary times of anyone's cancer journey when they are waiting for a diagnosis. Not all lumps are cancerous. You are also young, so I'm am thinking of you and, I hope that nothing untoward is found.

Do please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you and, know the agonies that you are curretly going through.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Rainbell,

I am just back from the GP today with a red-flag referral to breast screening dept at hospital in the next two weeks for a hard immobile lump in my breast too. Had a look here to find unfortunately or fortunately.. I'm not alone.

I don't want to tell anyone about it. I'm 53, a mum and teacher xx

  • Thank you both for the comments, I'm sorry to hear you've both been/are going through scary times. :(

The doctor felt them (apparently there was more than 2) and said they feel like cysts. He seemed very confident about it. He said he can't refer me to any scans etc because they're all closed. But I'm going back in 2 weeks to be checked again to see if they've grown. I'm not sure what makes him think they're cysts since they're immobile, but I'm so relieved. Still anxiously waiting for the next appointment in 2 weeks though. :(
