Advice needed

Hi Ladies

I'm wondering if you can please help, or shed some light on your experiences.
My story is very long, I won't go into too much details I'll just stick to the recent events.

I was diagnosed with highgrade CIN3 in Feb 2020
In March 2020 I tried to undergo the Lletz procedure with local Anaesthetic but it was too painful and too uncomfortable so it ended up doing it under GA instead. I woke up from the op and my recovery has been going well, I had minimal bleeding, my period came on time and I've been off my period for around a week. I was told to refrain from intercourse for 6 weeks, which I adhered to.

I had a letter on Saturday from the hospital stating that theymy abnormal cells were completely removed.

I've recently had intercourse again this week and the morning after I noticed some light discharge with some spotting, I didn't think anything of it but over the last few days I've had non stop brown discharge (TMI, sorry)

I'm extremely anxious and upset, I can't stop crying. It might be completely normal but my recovery is over (6 weeks) and surely it can't be a coincidence that this has all started right after having intercourse again? I'm not due on my next period until around the 9th of May.

I'm losing my mind, I've called my doctor today and waiting for a phone call back but I'd really apperciate it, if someone can put by mind at ease?

  • Hi SPounds1,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to read about your worries about this, and while I can't offer specific advice I can certainly understand this must be unsettling. It's good that you've spoken to your doctor - that's the best thing to do in this situation. Hopefully by now you've heard back from them, or will do soon. They're best placed to advise on this.

Meanwhile if anyone here has anything to add then hopefully they'll be along soon - my reply here will boost your post so more people will see it.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
