Complex ovarian cyst

Hi sorry if your busy i will understand if you cant get back to me.

A little back ground info I had an ablation done in 2012 for heavy periods it worked nothing for 9 years, fast forward  to last year after having extreme cramps to the point I  a ball for hours until the pain subsided.  When I returned from travelling I went to see my doctor as I started bleeding  went to hospital had ultra sound found fibroids and thickening of the womb.  At the consultant  appointment  he was unable to take a biopsy so referred straight away for it to be done under a general, i asked what my options wrte and he said a hysterectomy i  had the op but rather worrying the surgeon said your having it done because of heavy bleeding, and when was the 1st day of my last period.  I said I wasnt there for heavy bleeding and my last period was 9 years ago.

I was told to make a follow up app at my doctors in 2 weeks which I did to get the results, arrived to be told the results were not there and could take 6 weeks and I would get a letter I kept ringing and ended up fighting to get them as they said the surgery had the results and they didn't eventually got them on dec 17th and my doctor was concerned as the biopsy was scanty but unless I bled again didn't want to see me. I then had a breast cancer scare at the same time as the results so Christmas ruined.  I started bleeding again in March  twice in 2 weeks 1st time 3 days 2nd time 2 days the second time i rang my doctor who started the referral that day, they refused to see me until my doctor insisted, they have found a complex cyst, fibroids that were there in Oct  and wall thickening at 4.5.  My CA125 came back normal I was phoned by a doctor at the hospital and said they would wait for the results of the blood test as that may force their hand in what im offered.

I'm in pain constant heaviness and scared, I feel I am fighting at every corner.  I have another appointment with a consultant  on 5th May and I'm confused as to why they left me with no answers and only  seem interested if I have cancer they will then act.  No follow up tests from op.  They initially refused to see me  with all my symptoms  what could be offered?

Sorry this was so long

  • Welcome to the forum Doris although I'm sorry to read what you've been through. It sounds like it's been very challenging but I'm glad you've been persistent.

Unfortunately the questions you've asked can only really be answered by the medical teams looking after you so do be sure to make a note of everything you've mentioned here and take it with you to your next appointment.

Hopefully some of our members who have also dealt with a complex cyst will pop by for a chat soon but do feel free to use the 'search forum' option in the blue bar to join in on other discussions about this as well.

Wishing you all the best for the 5th May Doris.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
