CA125 results abnormal + suspected endometrioma?

Just had my CA125 results back and it was abnormal at 37. So not a massive increase in abnormality however my previous CA125 was 18 normal and all ultrasounds have shown a complex solid cyst on my left ovary that is growing, suspected endometrioma.

I have a phone call appoinment with the doctor on Monday. Is it the case that doctors get more concerned about the increase rate of CA125 numbers rather than the number itself? but in fact the rise is more concerning? What is considered quite a significant change/rise in CA125 numbers? and also what would that likely next step be if I have already had ultrasounds ?

My symptoms have been

. persistent bloating

. constant feel of pressure on my bladder/urgent need to urinate

. persistent stomach pain/abdominal pain (has woken me up in the night)

. change in bowel movements (more severe constipation and rectal bleeding)

  • There have been quite a few discussions on the forum before about high ca125 test results so hopefully some of our members who have been in this situation will get back to you soon Kate but if you'd like to have a quick chat with one of our cancer nurses about this (before your appointment if it isn't too early in the day) then do give them a call. They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on 0808 800 4040.

Wishing you all the best for Monday.
