Got smear test results back during pandemic

Hi all, I don't really know how to start this so I'll go straight in.. I got my smear test results back just before the lockdown all started and it came back HPV positive with abnormal cells. I was booked for a colposcopy but due to Covid-19, all out patient appointments at my hospital have been cancelled until the foreseeable future. I suffer with depression and anxiety as it is and the not knowing is terrifying me. I've also had random spotting the past month (which strangely started around the time I got the results letter) and pains, I have the implant and have been using them for almost nine years and I've never bled before with it. I've done the stupid thing and googled it and now I'm a bit freaked out. I'm worried that everything could be very manageable and treatable right now but the longer my appointment is put off the worse my situation will get. I do completely understand why they can't have anyone in the hospital, we're in difficult times. Would be so grateful if anyone could give me any advice or anything? Or if they're in the same boat right now

thank you x

  • Hi [@Mabel7654]‍ In the same boat as you :(

i was meant to have a sigmoidoscopy for bleeding with bowel movements and now that’s cancelled and I also have severe anxiety so I’m not really handling it so well. It’s affecting my day to day life. Just when I thought I’ll finally have a camera done for this ongoing problem the pandemic happened. It’s a horrible place to be stuck in.
