Worried I have Ovarian Cancer

Hi,

I've been driving myself mad googling and have all sorts of thoughts running round my head, came across this site and thought I would share my story so far and hopefully hear some reassuring replies.

Back at the beginning of Feb, I started with lower right abdominal pains... it was like someone was stabbing me... would last anywhere from 20 mins to an hour and every couple of hours. After this happening for a couple of days, I couldn't cope with the pain anymore so went to the drs. Dr wasn't sure, said some symptoms of appendicitis but didn't think that, gave me some painkillers and sent me for a blood test and an ultrasound.

Painkillers were not helping, so went back 2 days later... gave me something else (which also didn't help). Got blood results that day... all normal. Ultrasound booked for following Thursday.

Had ultrasound... Dr called me with the results a few days later and said they had found a cyst (8 x 6 x 4cm) on my right ovary. Asked me to go for a CA125 test the next day.... went and got results, all normal at 10. Referred me to a gyneacologist... had a telephone review with him on 10th April and asked me to book an MRI.

Had my MRI on Thursday this week and now just nervously waiting for my results, which I'm hoping won't be too long.

I don't know if these are related or not to what's going on but keep getting a bad head, dry cough off and on, feel sick and bloated and noticed today I have a load of random bruising down my right leg (don't remember banging leg or anything).

Sorry to ramble... sometimes just good to write things out to clear the mind a little. If anyone has any info to share that would be fab.

Hope everyone's keeping well.

  • Hi Nicola,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm glad you've found this site - as you say it can be helpful simply to write things down and to speak to others who understand.

I can certainly understand your worries - it's never easy when there is this uncertainty. It's good to hear you've had various tests and are waiting on the next set of results. I hope it's not too long to wait to find out more.

Do use this forum as much as is helpful at any point - it's a very welcoming and understanding community of people. My reply here will also boost your post so more people will see it, and if anyone has any thoughts or info to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
